॥ दोहा ॥

जय गणेश गिरिजा सुवन, मंगल मूल सुजान। कहत अयोध्यादास तुम, देहु अभय वरदान॥

Jay Ganesh Girija Suvan, Mangal Mool Sujaan. Kahat Ayodhyadas tum, Dehu Abhay Vardaan.

💡 Victory to Ganesha — son of Girija (Parvati) — root of all auspiciousness. Ayodhyadas prays: grant me the boon of fearlessness.

॥ 1 ॥

जय गिरिजा पति दीन दयाला। सदा करत सन्तन प्रतिपाला॥

Jay Girija pati deen dayaala. Sada karat santan pratipaala.

💡 Victory to the Lord of Girija (Parvati), compassionate to the humble — ever the protector and nurturer of saints.

॥ 2 ॥

भाल चन्द्रमा सोहत नीके। कानन कुण्डल नागफनी के॥

Bhaal Chandrama Sohat Neeke. Kaanan Kundal Naagphani Ke.

💡 The crescent moon shines beautifully on your forehead. Serpent-hood earrings adorn your ears.

॥ 3 ॥

अंग गौर शिर गंग बहाये। मुण्डमाल तन क्षार लगाये॥

Ang Gaur Shir Gang Bahaye. Mundmaal Tan Kshaar Lagaye.

💡 Your body is fair, the Ganga flows from your matted hair. A garland of skulls adorns your neck and sacred ash covers your body.

॥ 4 ॥

वस्त्र खाल बाघम्बर सोहे। छवि को देख नाग मुनि मोहे॥

Vastr Khaal Baaghambar Sohe. Chhavi Ko Dekh Naag Muni Mohe.

💡 A tiger-skin garment adorns you. Even sages and serpents are enchanted by your divine beauty.

॥ 5 ॥

मैना मातु की ह्वै दुलारी। बाम अंग सोहत छवि न्यारी॥

Maina Maatu Ki Hwai Dulari. Baam Ang Sohat Chhavi Nyari.

💡 Parvati — the beloved daughter of Queen Maina — sits gracefully on your left side, forming a uniquely beautiful form (Ardhanarishvara).

॥ 6 ॥

कर त्रिशूल सोहत छवि भारी। करत सदा शत्रुन क्षयकारी॥

Kar Trishool Sohat Chhavi Bhaari. Karat Sada Shatrun Kshaykaari.

💡 The trident in your hand shines magnificently, and it is ever the destroyer of your enemies.

॥ 7 ॥

नन्दि गणेश सोहैं तहँ कैसे। सागर मध्य कमल हैं जैसे॥

Nandi Ganesh Sohe Tahan Kaise. Saagar Madhy Kamal Hain Jaise.

💡 Nandi (the sacred bull) and Ganesha sit beside you like two lotuses blooming in an ocean.

॥ 8 ॥

कार्तिक श्याम और गणराऊ। या छवि को कहि जात न काऊ॥

Kartik Shyam Aur Ganraau. Ya Chhavi Ko Kahi Jaat Na Kaau.

💡 Kartikeya, Shyam (Vishnu) and Ganesha — the beauty of your divine assembly cannot be fully described by anyone.

॥ 9 ॥

देवन जबहीं जाय पुकारा। तब ही दुख प्रभु आप निवारा॥

Devan Jabheen Jaay Pukaara. Tab Hi Dukh Prabhu Aap Nivaara.

💡 Whenever the gods have called out to you in distress, you have immediately come and removed their suffering.

॥ 10 ॥

किया उपद्रव तारक भारी। देवन सब मिलि तुमहिं जुहारी॥

Kiya Upadrav Taarak Bhaari. Devan Sab Mil Tumhi Juhaari.

💡 When the demon Taraka caused great havoc, all the gods bowed to you in prayer for salvation.

॥ 11 ॥

तुरत षडानन आप पठायउ। लव निमेष महँ मारि गिरायउ॥

Turat Shadaanan Aap Pathayu. Lav Nimesh Mahan Maari Girayu.

💡 You immediately sent your son Shadanana (Kartikeya with six faces) and in the blink of an eye, the demon was slain.

॥ 12 ॥

आप जलंधर असुर संहारा। सुयश तुम्हार विदित संसारा॥

Aap Jalandhar Asur Sanhaara. Suyash Tumhaar Vidit Sansaara.

💡 You destroyed the demon Jalandhara yourself. Your glorious deeds are known throughout the world.

॥ 13 ॥

त्रिपुरासुर सन युद्ध मचाई। सबहिं कृपा कर लीन बचाई॥

Tripuraasur San Yuddh Machaai. Sabahi Kripa Kar Leen Bachaai.

💡 You waged war against the demon Tripurasura and, out of compassion, you saved everyone involved.

॥ 14 ॥

किया तपहिं भागीरथ भारी। पुरब प्रतिज्ञा तासु पुरारी॥

Kiya Tapahi Bhagirath Bhaari. Purab Pratidnya Taasu Puraari.

💡 When Bhagirath performed intense penance, you, O Puraari (enemy of the three cities), fulfilled his great vow.

॥ 15 ॥

दानिन महँ तुम सम कोउ नाहीं। सेवक स्तुति करत सदाहीं॥

Daanin Mahan Tum Sam Kou Nahin. Sevak Stuti Karat Sadaahin.

💡 Among all givers, none equals you. Your devotees ever sing your praises.

॥ 16 ॥

वेद नाम महिमा तव गाई। अकथ अनादि भेद नहिं पाई॥

Ved Naam Mahima Tav Gaai. Akath Anadi Bhed Nahin Paai.

💡 The Vedas sing your glory, yet your mystery is beyond beginning or end, and no one has fully understood it.

॥ 17 ॥

प्रगटी उदधि मन्थन में ज्वाला। जरत सुरासुर भए विहाला॥

Pragati Udadhi Manthan Men Jwaala. Jarat Suraasur Bhaye Vihaala.

💡 When the terrible poison (Halahala) emerged from the ocean churning, gods and demons alike were overwhelmed with distress.

॥ 18 ॥

कीन्हि दया तहँ करि सहाई। नीलकण्ठ तब नाम कहाई॥

Keehi Daya Tahan Kari Sahaai. Neelakantha Tab Naam Kahaai.

💡 You showed compassion and consumed the poison to protect creation. From that day, you became known as Neelakantha — the blue-throated one.

॥ 19 ॥

पूजन रामचन्द्र जब कीना। जीत के लंक विभीषण दीना॥

Poojan Ramchandra Jab Keena. Jeet Ke Lanka Vibheeshan Deena.

💡 When Lord Ramachandra worshipped you, you blessed him; and after the victory, Lanka was given to Vibhishana.

॥ 20 ॥

सहस कमल में हो रहे धारी। कीन्ह परीक्षा तबहिं पुरारी॥

Sahas Kamal Men Ho Rahe Dhaari. Keenh Pareeksha Tabhein Puraari.

💡 When Ram was offering a thousand lotus flowers to you, you hid one to test his devotion.

॥ 21 ॥

रामहिं निज चक्षु दे दीन्हा। हृदय पुलकित प्रभु अति कीन्हा॥

Ramahi Nij Chaksh De Deenha. Hriday Pulkit Prabhu Ati Keenha.

💡 Ram offered his own eye as the thousandth lotus. Deeply moved, Shiva blessed him with boundless joy.

॥ 22 ॥

जय जय जय अनन्त अविनासी। करत कृपा सब के घटवासी॥

Jay Jay Jay Anant Avinaasi. Karat Kripa Sab Ke Ghatvaasi.

💡 Victory, victory, victory to you — the eternal, the indestructible. You dwell in the hearts of all and bless everyone with your grace.

॥ 23 ॥

दुष्ट सकल नित मोहि सतावैं। भ्रमत रहौं मोहि चैन न आवैं॥

Dusht Sakal Nit Mohi Sataaven. Bhramat Rahon Mohi Chain Na Aaven.

💡 All manner of wickedness troubles me day and night. I wander restless and can find no peace.

॥ 24 ॥

त्राहि त्राहि मैं नाथ पुकारों। यही अवसर मोहि आन उबारो॥

Traahi Traahi Main Naath Pukaaron. Yahi Avsar Mohi Aan Ubaaro.

💡 Save me! Save me! O Lord, I cry out to you. This is the moment — please come and rescue me.

॥ 25 ॥

लाज तुम्हारी तांत न दीजे। संकट में मोहि आन न कीजे॥

Laaj Tumhaari Tant Na Deeje. Sankat Men Mohi Aan Na Keeje.

💡 Do not let your reputation as a protector be tarnished. Do not leave me alone in this crisis.

॥ 26 ॥

खड़ेग विजय करे रघुनाथा। सत्य सत्य प्रभु कहत अनाथा॥

Khadeg Vijay Kare Raghunatha. Satya Satya Prabhu Kahat Anaatha.

💡 Lord Raghunatha (Ram) won victory by the sword. Truth, truth — so says this helpless devotee, O Lord.

॥ 27 ॥

कर त्रिशूल सोहत छवि भारी। करत सदा शत्रुन क्षयकारी॥

Kar Trishool Sohat Chhavi Bhaari. Karat Sada Shatrun Kshaykaari.

💡 The trident gleams magnificently in your hand — a force that ever destroys all enemies and evil.

॥ 28 ॥

मोको जगत ताप न सतावे। यह वर देउ ता नाम धरावे॥

Moko Jagat Taap Na Sataave. Yah Var Deu Ta Naam Dharaave.

💡 Grant me this boon: that the pains of this world no longer torment me — and this name 'BhaktiSagar' shall then glorify your name.

॥ 29 ॥

सुखी करे परिवार हमारा। सेवक स्तुति करे तुम्हारा॥

Sukhi Kare Parivaar Hamaara. Sevak Stuti Kare Tumhaara.

💡 Make my family happy and prosperous. Your servant ever sings your praises.

॥ 30 ॥

नाम नारायण में तुम जानो। योग ध्यान में तुम पहिचानो॥

Naam Naraayan Men Tum Jaano. Yog Dhyan Men Tum Pahichaano.

💡 In the name 'Narayana' you are known. In meditation and yoga, you are recognized in all forms.

॥ 31 ॥

ब्रह्मा विष्णु आदि देवताई। मुनि सनकादि सकल चतुराई॥

Brahma Vishnu Aadi Devatai. Muni Sankaadi Sakal Chaturai.

💡 Brahma, Vishnu and all the gods — even the sage Sanaka and all the wise ones — sing your praises.

॥ 32 ॥

सुर किन्नर अरु असुर नर नाही। सब मिलि गावत बडे़ उछाही॥

Sur Kinnar Aru Asur Nar Naahi. Sab Mil Gaavat Bade Uchhaahi.

💡 Gods, Kinnaras, demons, humans — all together sing your glory with great joy.

॥ 33 ॥

काहे न संकट निवारो स्वामी। काहे न होहिं दुखी ग्रामी॥

Kaahe Na Sankat Nivaaro Swaami. Kaahe Na Hohin Dukhi Graami.

💡 O Lord, why not remove all obstacles? Why should your devotees suffer?

॥ 34 ॥

यह संकट मम दूर हटाओ। मातु पिता मिलि मोहिं लखाओ॥

Yah Sankat Mam Door Hatao. Maatu Pita Mil Mohin Lakhaao.

💡 Remove this crisis of mine. Show me the path — as mother and father both show the way.

॥ 35 ॥

चालीसा पाठ करे मन लाई। ज्ञान धर्म इच्छाफल पाई॥

Chaaleesa Paath Kare Man Laai. Gyan Dharm Icchaaphal Paai.

💡 One who recites this Chalisa with a focused mind gains knowledge, righteousness, and the fulfillment of all sincere desires.

॥ 36 ॥

विविध देव सब तव मिलि गावैं। पाठ करें तव भव भय जावैं॥

Vividh Dev Sab Tav Mil Gaaven. Paath Karen Tav Bhav Bhay Jaaven.

💡 All the various gods sing your praises together. One who recites this Chalisa is freed from the fear of worldly existence.

॥ 37 ॥

शम्भु अनाथ की सुनहु पुकारा। हो करुणानिधि हरहु विकारा॥

Shambhu Anath Ki Sunhu Pukaara. Ho Karunaanidhi Harhu Vikaara.

💡 O Shambhu, hear the cry of the helpless. O treasury of compassion, remove all impurities and suffering.

॥ 38 ॥

करहुँ कृपा शंकर तव नाई। सिद्ध होवे काज सुखदाई॥

Karahun Kripa Shankar Tav Naai. Siddh Hove Kaaj Sukhdaai.

💡 Shower your grace, O Shankara, in your divine name. May all my undertakings succeed and bring happiness.

॥ 39 ॥

निसि दिन ध्यान तुम्हारा जपते। पाप विनाश होत हैं कहते॥

Nisi Din Dhyan Tumhara Japte. Paap Vinaash Hot Hain Kahte.

💡 Those who meditate on you day and night — it is said that all their sins are destroyed.

॥ 40 ॥

जो शिव चालीसा पढ़े हो भाई। सो निश्चय शिवलोक पाई॥

Jo Shiv Chaaleesa Padhe Ho Bhaai. So Nishchay Shivlok Paai.

💡 O brother, whoever reads this Shiv Chalisa — they shall surely attain Shivaloka (Shiva's divine realm).

॥ दोहा ॥

श्री शिव स्तुति जो गावही जीवन मुक्त हो जाय। जन्म जन्म पाप तासु बल कटि जाय॥

Shri Shiv Stuti Jo Gaavahi Jeevan Mukt Ho Jaay. Janm Janm Paap Taasu Bal Kati Jaay.

💡 One who sings this prayer of Shri Shiva becomes liberated in this very life. The sins of countless births are cut away by the power of this praise.
